What do the different badges mean?

AlohaSafe Workplace is a simple yet powerful digital COVID-19 screening solution that local businesses can leverage to safely reopen and protect the health and safety of employees, clients, customers, and the wider community. Companies using AlohaSafe Workplace require employees and vendors to have a valid badge to enter the office or work site.

Through a series of questions that is based on CDC guidelines and company policy, a risk factor is established via an assigned badge which are:

Access Granted

Provided that your responses indicate that you low risk of transmitting COVID-19, the application generates a unique “Access Granted” badge that you will use to enter the workplace. The badge will be valid for the day.

Employee is low risk of having and spreading COVID-19

Needs Review

Employees will receive a yellow “Needs Review” badge if the results indicate that the employee has identified experiencing some symptoms, may have had recent exposure or may have recently traveled. Employees who receive a “Needs Review” badge will be prompted to follow up with their employer to receive guidance on next steps.

Employee is moderate risk and requires further review before reporting to work

Access Denied

If you have received an “Access Denied” badge, it means the survey has determined you to be a high risk of transmitting COVID-19 and you should not report to work.

You can receive an “Access Denied” badge for various reasons which include:

  1. Your badge has expired. The badge you were issued yesterday has expired and you need to take a new survey.
  2. You are working remote and did not take the health check-in survey. The full health survey is only given to employees requesting to work in the office/on-site.
  3. You are on vacation or leave and do not have an active health survey submitted. (If you are on vacation and need to visit the office or job site, you should take the health survey.)
  4. If an employee has been deemed high risk of transmitting COVID-19 (based on screening survey responses) they will automatically receive a red “Access Denied” badge and are prohibited from entering the workplace.

You are high risk and should follow instructions on badge
Denied because status has expired
Denied because you are working remote
Denied because you are on vacation or leave

If you receive a denied access badge, follow the instructions on your badge. Each company has a customized message for all badges and there may be special instruction pertaining to next steps.
